In Castro Laboreiro, a small portuguese village with less than 500 inhabitants prevails an ancient tradition that consists to the ups and downs of the mountain. Among the “Brandas”, the high terrain where they stay from the Spring to the Fall, and the “Inverneiras”, the lowest where they stayed in the Winter, there is still Castrejos (local habitants) who live part of the year in each of the altitudes to escape the cold. To history was the time that the change to take everything back, from cattle to pans and the whole family, was made through the mountains with oxcarts carrying all their life belongings before the beginning of the Winter.
